My church is bigger than yours

T his know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.

Surely these must be the actions of some Godless heathen nation far-far away where there is no religious hope.

Then again, a Godless heathen nation probably wouldn't have enough longevity to sustain such behavior and would either fall prey to an adversary or by some miraculous act they would come to their senses and repent.

The American culture is plagued with all the iniquities listed above. They are so common until if you don't fit into one of the categories you are portrayed as the one with the problem and don't readily fit in.

There is pressure being placed on all of us to conform to some type of iniquity. Abnormal behavior has surpassed goodness and understanding and become the social norm. The country has been deceived for a long time, so why now are all these iniquities manifesting themselves? The answer is simple, the quality of religion in the country has fallen to an all-time low.

The churches are no doubt larger and fancier than ever and the congregations are larger than ever as well, so how can religion be suffering under these conditions?

Quality doctrine is often given less priority than those elements that posses the ability to entice when it comes to laying a foundation for a church or ministry. Quality doctrine is something money can't buy.

A church can hire quality entertainment and become aesthetically pleasing but quality doctrine has to be earned.

The power of money has usurped the power of sound

doctrine giving the church a new covenant by which to measure itself.

Money is very deceptive in that it can appear to be one's savior.

Since religion is based on being saved it is only natural that money would make a nice cornerstone on which to woo a flock. The power of money has propelled it into the role of the most high, having multitudes of believers and worshipers giving it praise.

However, no self-respecting Christian will ever worship money because that would be wrong; that would be idolatry and that is something good Christians frown upon. The entrepreneurs saw this dilemma facing Christianity and exploited it in a way that has made Satan very proud.

Rather than unabashedly worship money, why not funnel the monies through the church and have the church bestow on its congregation the blessing of indulgence. That way one can't be accused of covetousness or idolatry or anything else involving money that is deemed damnable. In other words, you give some of your money to the church and the church will set you free by telling you what you want to hear.

This arrangement has swept the country and zapped the sting out of religion. The sheep and the Shepherd have reached a mutual agreement on the brand and the dosage of the gospel that is to be administered.

Man and religion has never been a match made in heaven, so this sheep and shepherd arrangement isn't without scorn either. It leaves the door wide open for those human elements that are susceptible to deception.

Ideals an inclinations like bigger churches bestow bigger blessings and the more you have, the more blessed you are have entered into the minds of the sheep and shepherds alike. Now you have churches competing for the title of 'biggest' and 'richest'. Churches have become so preoccupied with how to rake in more money until they don't see the gospel as having any value as an attraction, so they don't place much emphasis on it.
