Nothing but smoke politics

                                                                                                                                                                 Home

T here has been a noticeable decline in the amount to substantive information coming out of the mouths of people in politics lately. Politicians have never been known for uttering useful and timely information on anything that matters. However, it seems like what little that was once there, seems to have evaporated.

By know means am I saying politicians have lost their gift of gab. No, politicians are running their traps more than ever, they just aren't saying anything when they speak.

The nature of the media is partly to blame for this, in that everything that is said seems to get beamed around the world instantly. One slip of the tongue and you are put in a defensive position where you are left fighting for your political life.

Whatever little sympathy you may be feeling towards politicians over their dilemma with media scrutiny can be tossed out because politicians have turned this negative dilemma into a positive, and are reaping a huge windfall in the process.

Since most politicians are millionaires, they take comfort in the fact that they don't have to answer any hard questions and are expected to speak in high-level general terms. They never commit to anything, therefore, you can't hold them solely accountable for anything.

Well, corporate America, the bed-mate of politicians, saw how well politicians were getting over, so they jumped into the speak but don't tell game also.

With politicians and corporate America either silent or devoid of truth when it comes to matters of substance, the voters and consumers are at a loss for answers to the major problems they see confronting their lives. Problems that are either directly or indirectly linked to the actions of politicians and corporate America.

I know corporate executives and high-ranking politicians aren't telling the truth when asked

about their roles in afflicting matters that are detrimental to my well-being; I just can't prove that they are lying.

They say things like "it's the lawyers that has driven up the cost of healthcare". I do hear cases about malpractice and the compensation that gets awarded. Yet at the same time, I see record profits being reaped in all areas of the healthcare industry.

The politicians and the industry itself are in the mist of a long-running investigation to determine what the problem is and how it can be fixed. I don't expect and answer anytime soon. I know neither one is interested in the truth of this matter but I can't prove it.

There is a long list of smoke items out there, and no matter how hard you look into them, you won't find any fire.

There are the companies that manufacture all their products in areas where there are no labor laws. They sell their goods in America for top-dollar. They say America just isn't manufacturing friendly anymore. I think "manufacturing friendly" has a different meaning to different people. I know companies who move offshore are doing it to increase their profits but I can't prove it.

Corporate executives seem to be solely interested in their on personal gain when it comes to doing their jobs. When asked what they know and when they knew it, you usually get a vague non sequitur response.

You are left wondering how anyone that naïve could merit such a lucrative compensation package. All smoke, no fire.

I know oil companies are price gouging but I can't prove it.

Congress fixed the cereal industry and look at it now. Congress fixed the rap industry and look at it now. Congress fixed the school systems and look at it now. I can't prove congress wasn't acting in good faith on these matters; I only know the problems got

worse shortly after congress got done. Nothing but smoke.

Congress like to bail-out corporations that have frivolously squandered monies of those who entrusted them. They hold mock hearings in the process but nothing is ever revealed. I know congress could make corporate execs talk if they wanted to but I can't prove it.

I know the media tycoons are only dealing in garbage content just to keep us dumbed down but I can't prove it.

When you start looking at the big issues like why did we go to war or why are there drugs and gangs inside the prisons? You know that somebody isn't telling the truth about what is really going on.

I know that state government is using the lottery for there own personal gain but I can't prove it. Politicians are very tight-lipped when it comes to disclosing lottery proceeds.

I know American car companies could make a better product if it was in their interest. I know countries that deal autos to the USA are dependent on this market and have assurances from the government that they will always have their share of this market. I can't prove US trade policy is linked to the US State Department and is a tool by which world order is accomplished.

Politicians don't mention illegal immigration in the context of the social security debate. Illegals who pay into the system are making up for the baby-boomer shortfall. What happens

to all the social security money illegal workers pay in but never collect? Social security can't be going broke but I can't prove it.

There aren't many watchdog organizations out there that have the public's interest on important financial matters as it relates to how companies do business. Politicians and big business are in cahoots, with the consumers fighting for survival in a sea of sharks. I know politicians deliberately look the other way when big business tells them too but I can't prove it.

The tax system is designed to be just what it is, a regulatory tool in the hand of government but I can't prove it.

So what does all this mean? It means the institutions we once trusted and depended on to do the right thing are no longer living up to their responsibility. You don't need proof when all the evidence speaks for itself.

It's the culprits themselves that have set the standards for right and wrong, and they've made proof their mantra, even in the face of overwhelming evidence that speaks volumes to the contrary.

This is the revolution you've heard so much about, and it is sweeping the country. I don't expect politicians and big business to give up their fight to protect their power anytime soon, and I got the proof that reinforces that belief.
